Social Pressures and Behaviors - Critique on Eric Fromm's essay Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

History of humanity was created by the disobedience of Adam and Eve and humanity also will be destroyed by obedience of human kind. Human development, Eric Fromm argues, was based on Greek and Hebrew Mythology. Adam and Eve started out as "non humans", meaning that they had not yet thought of or discovered sin, reason, love, or disobedience. It changed as soon as they "disobeyed and order by breaking ties with Mother Nature." They had to find another place to live besides the Garden of Eden in order to be fully human. But basically they were forced to leave this paradise because of their sin. The focus goes from Adam and Eve over to Greek mythology. Prometheus's view of disobedience is that all humans are based on it. Fromm states that when "Prometheus stole the fire from the gods that it laid the foundation for the evolution of man. There would be no human history were it not for Prometheus's crime." Fromm argues that human race will destroy itself and earth within five to ten years because everybody's, especially politics, emotions are stuck in the Stone Age while math, ast......
