Rising Health Costs As health costs doubled through the years Americans are spending more on insurance then before. Health cost have risen nearly five times more than wages have. People are asking them selves why are we paying that much for health care? Even companies which provide coverage to workers complain that the high costs are decreasing the ability to complete with companies abroad which their government gives them government -subsidized care. Critics argue that there is little to control the costs. Background . In the 20th Century, medicines began to be used much more then it was before but with low-tech and low pay. Over the last half century, however, the medicine industry got dominated by drugs and technology which had the potential to cure diseases. But the higher cost of these new medicines made a lot of issues on who should have access to these medicines and who would pay for it.
