Bend It Like Beckham The movie "Bend It Like Beckham" analyses the life of two teenage girls and their dream to become professional soccer players. Jess is an Indian girl whose dream of playing soccer interferes with her parents plan of her going to university, helping with her sisters wedding, and learning about their culture. Jules is Caucasian girl whose parents think soccer is a good past time. Although both parents are okay with Jules playing soccer, Jules mother thinks she would be better suited by going shopping, hanging out with friends, and dressing more feminine to attract boys. Since Jess and Jules' families both have different social norms their family subsystems interact in different ways, this causes different feedback to be given between group members and therefore different meaningful habits are expressed, this will be proven with the Systems Theory and Structural Functionalism Theory.
