I originally thought golf was a silly game. A game played by doctors, lawyers, and upper-class people. My attitude changed at the age of nineteen. I landed a job at a local golf course called Buck Creek. I worked there for over a year before I started playing. I fell in love with the game, and began playing regularly. If you are into golf I recommend working at a golf course. I could now play several different courses, either for free, or at a huge discount. Playing in abundance, I started to categorize golf courses into four groups: "Traditional", "Social", "The Big Boys", and the "Monster Miles". While I was doing this I noticed a correlation between these groups, and how my feelings and emotions were affected by them. Buck Creek is now Aberdeen Country Club. Others like Black Bear and Woodland Valley are great traditional golf courses. They have intermingled the par threes, fours, and fives which make me appreciate the care that the designer takes in laying out the types of courses. I am not left bored. I am not just playing the same type of hole over and over......
