Mary Shelley's Frankenstien and the movie The Truman Show are two very different stories with an abundance of striking resemblences. For example both the creation and Truman have fathers' or father figures that are breifly present in their lives, gone for a long period of time and reappear. The creators themselves are very different in their involvement with their "creations". Also the creation and Truman are both challenged by society and it changes each of them. One very different topic is the story structure Frankenstien is a tragedy and ends very sadly and the Truman Show has a very pleasing ending and is more of a heroic sort of story. The main characters of both stories have many similar issues but they each deal with them differently. The Truman Show starts with actor Jim Carry playing Truman who is the star of a show but he doesn't know it. As far as he knows early on he has a perfect life a good family good friends and he gets good grades in school. He has a perfect life until his father supposedly drowns while Truman and he were out sailing when a storm came about and ......
