Throughout the United States multicultural education is taught. There are many controversies on the fact that diversity and multi-cultural education is taught to children in our society. Some people feel that when it is taught that we are loosing focus on the United States history. While on the other hand, people feel that it is important for children to be educated on the dissimilarity of their peers. It is extremely important for children to learn about multicultural education and diversity throughout the journey of life. Children, teens, and even adults study and learn about diversity. For example during high school, students will learn about Adolf Hitler's reign in Germany and control over concentration camps during World War II. Another example is how African Americans were discriminated against for so long, or how about when woman were treated as if they were nothing and did not have any rights. Still in today's world most of these issues are still pending resolution. Rudine Sims Bishop uses a metaphor to explain the importance of education of diversity.......
