"Great Expectations" is Dickens most popular novel .Most of his ideas and inspirations for "Great Expectations" have been based on his own childhood and the things he has been through in his life."Great Expectations" was published in thirty-six weekly instalments in Dickens' magazine All Year Round. 'Great Expectations' is about a young boy's journey through life, his 'expectations' of life and how it is perceived by different groups on the social ladder. This would have been of particular interest to Dickens' Victorian readers as well as to modern readers because the Victorians were very socially conscious and enjoyed the many different themes involved in Dickens novels, and for modern audiences this book would give them an insight into the Victorian era and the way in which Victorians lived.
