The novel Water For Elephants by Sara Gruen is a very interesting story and has a lot to offer. This story has a strong sense of how a man's moral can be put to the test, which this story has the most difficult situations to test one remain a good person. Social classes still exist today, but not to the dramatized extent that is portrayed in this story. Jacob, on the other hand, works his way around this social division to become friends with everybody. This Story is also a love story. Sometimes people are meant for each other regardless of the consequences. There are numerous parts in the book that shows this perfectly and it is a very unfair world. It is the world of the circus and life on the road. The first situation that Jacob runs into would be the death of his parents. He was about to take his finals in college to become a veterinarian when he was called with the information. This is a big test that would break any man, and it does.
