Rabbit Proof Fence Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

The film Rabbit Proof Fence portrays the sufferings of Aboriginals on various levels. Refer to the scene when the girls were being taken away by Constable Riggs. The film Rabbit Proof Fence, directed by Phillip Noyce, is an extremely emotional film based on a true story about three young Aboriginal-white-European girls who escaped from a half-caste settlement in Western Australia, back in the sixties. It displays the various levels of suffering felt by the Aboriginal people during the time of the Stolen Generation, including loss of family, loss of freedom, and loss of culture. During the scene Stolen, Molly, Gracie and Daisy are taken away from their family by Constable Riggs. The quick pace of the booming sound of drums while Maude, Gracie's mum and the three girls are running is a symbol of their fear and is associated with their heartbeat (as their fear increases, the drums' quicken, as their heartbeats would). The diagetic sounds of the mothers' screaming and the looks on their faces while hitting the window of the car gives us a visual representation of their suffer......
