In 1919 Halliburton was founded and is today one the largest energy providers in the world. Halliburton serves the upstream oil and gas industry; they do everything from finding hydrocarbons and organizing geological data, to formation evaluation and drilling, even well construction and completion, while optimizing the production during the life cycle of the reservoir. Halliburton operates in roughly 70 countries with more than 50,000 employees (Halliburton, 2007). Halliburton is divided into two divisions: Drilling and Evaluation, and Completion and Production. Drilling and Evaluation takes care of drilling, evaluation, field and reservoir modeling, and well-bore placements so that customers can model, measure, and optimize their well construction activities. Completion and Production distributes cementing, stimulation, intervention, and completion services (Halliburton, 2007).
