Negotiation as we know it has been around for many years, even pre-history. The value of negotiations is very essential because it give us the opportunity to make decisions, bargaining as well as a deal-making process, but most of all it helps to resolve disputes. Unfortunately, there is more to negotiating and that involves having a strategy that can benefit the individual. This paper is going to discuss two articles that describe a negotiation situation that employs different negotiation strategies. This paper will also described the negotiation process used in the articles as well as comparing and contrasting the two strategies, also, showing how it might apply in the work environment. In the first article, referenced from the Eagle Tribune entitled 'Fate of Detroit's Big 3' will trickle down locally. Notice how the three companies, Ford, Chrysler and General Motors united to ask the US Government for a bailout package of $25 billion.
