I have a dream. A dream for the next 20 years; a goal for the youth, but for the benefits of the world and generations to come. Two decades from now, I have a dream that there will be a student, just like me, who will stand up here in front of you, 7000 miles away from China. He may not be a prodigy, or a genius, but he will have mastered the Chinese language. He will have gone through all the obstacles, challenges, difficulties and joys of learning the Chinese language and its culture. He will have put in the hard work, the sweat, the determination, and he will have enjoyed the successes of learning. My dream is for a student, in 20 years time, to have the opportunity to learn about such a unique and interesting language and culture, and that he will have had the same positive experiences that I have had while learning it.
