Julius Caesar Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

In the play Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare the main protagonist Julius Caesar is betrayed by two of his close and trusted friends, Brutus and Cassius who claim to kill him for the better of Rome. They believe that Caesar was becoming too powerful and ambitious therefore the only way for him not to take over the Romans was to kill him. After Caesar's death his loyal friends Mark Antony and Octavius seeks revenge for his death by getting rid of all the traitors who killed Caesar. Mark Antony wisely uses a speech which he says after Brutus has convinced the citizens of Rome that Caesar's murder was for their benefit and Antony gets all of the people of Rome to revolt against those who betrayed Caesar. War breaks out and in the end both Brutus and Cassius commit suicide because they can't handle the guilt of innocent Caesar and the consequences that would come because of their wrong actions.
