It is debated continuously weather Macbeth is manipulated or manipulative in his journey to be king. I believe Macbeth is a manipulative murderer because he is the only one with control over his own actions. He is greedy and wants to be King, so he will do anything to get to that royal status. Macbeth is a manipulative murderer because he continues killing people even after Duncan, he convinces the poor that banquo is the reason they are poor, and he lies to the people around him to make himself seem better. After having killed Duncan, Lady Macbeth assumes they are done killing people, and Macbeth clearly disagrees. He wants to kill Banquo, and does so without her consent. She has little knowledge that its even being done because he becomes discreet. "We have scorched the snake, not killed it." He is telling her they have only started, but are not done with their work in order to become king.
