Defined on Wikipedia, "Motivation is the activation or energization of goal oriented behavior, Used internally or externally and may be rooted in the basic need to minimize physical pain and maximize pleasure." Motivation can be defined as many things, it is seen and used in many situations in everyday life. In sports a team will motivate each other by maybe doing a cheer or will rely on the crowd to keep them going. In the military, motivation is a part of everyday life. Being in the military I can relate by saying that motivation is that feeling or that state of mind that just when you think you cannot go any farther and you are at your final limits, your peers, your superiors, or even just a change in mindset keeps you going, and gives you that extra boost to finish strong. Looking past the literal definition of the word motivation is no difficult task, due to the fact that everyone already has a basic understanding of the word and of course unless you have spent your entire life on the couch has experienced the feeling of motivation in one way or the other.
