Capital punishment is something that many people do not have a clear decision on. A vast amount of people support the death penalty, while others wish for the abolishment of it, and there are those that support capital punishment, but only in specific instances such as premeditated murder or serial killings. Although some people support the decision to no longer have capital punishment in civilized societies there is some evidence that shows the death penalty is beneficial for a productive society. Groups that support capital punishment often say that it is deterrent for future criminals who are thinking of committing murders or other equally unthinkable crimes. However, criminals do not think of the consequences of their actions when plotting or committing these crimes. They act in a complete selfish manner with little to no regard for the victim and families affected.
