The second wave of the feminist movement has been scrutinized and subjected to both intense degradation and admiration. Some believe that the 1960s to 1970s Women�"s Movement has been riding the coattails of the first wave feminist movement and did not do any significant changes. However, some believe that the second wave feminist movement did achieve great victories and successes. One of the successes during the Women�"s Movement would be the creation of NOW or the National Organization for Women. The organization was created by Betty Friedan and 28 others who formed the original National Organization for Women. NOW was an organization that wanted fully equal partnership with men, and wanted equality, freedom and dignity for women. The NOW concentrates on things such as images of women in the media, in culture, in laws and in social practices. NOW even briefly addressed �"double discrimination�" of African American women, which linked women�"s rights to broader issues such as racial injustice and successfully battled sexism through conventional methods, ......
