In order to achieve its goal - to distribute crofelemer, an anti-diarrhea compound, to the developing countries - Napo Pharmaceuticals had been looking for and building corporate partnerships to raise enough funds for crofelemer��s R&D and distribution. However, the main problem lay in whether Napo should share the remaining crofelemer intellectual property, which was Napo��s most important asset, with its potential partner, PHI, to make the agreement complete soon and put the money into Napo in time as it only got enough money for one month. Napo had to choose between the achievement of its goal and the most important asset of company. EXTERNAL SITUATION ANALYSIS First of all, the failure of GSK gave Napo an excellent opportunity to take the market for IBS, especially when it was still a market without obvious competitors. Although, undeniably, consumers would have a negative impact on the medicine for IBS because Lotronex, launched by GSK, just caused casualties, Napo could use this event to illustrate the efficacy, safety, and difference between it and other pharmaceuticals.......
