Autism, how can it be classified? Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Autism is a disorder that is impossible to classify. Currently there are only two types of autism classified. Asperger's which is a more mild form of autism, and autism itself. It is too difficult to put each specific kind of autism into a category, simply because there are too many different kinds. Each case is different and for all researchers know there could be an infinite number of categories for autistics. Even the ones who are in the Asperger's category could be divided into what some would say millions. There is mildly autistic all the way up to severe. For all those who are severely autistic there are those that can barely communicate, and then others that can function in society and are somewhat geniuses, just slightly awkward. The point is simply that there is no way to fully classify autistics than just that they have the same disease, only it effects them all differently. For one example there is Layla, who is described as having the mind of a three year old. She is severely autistic and her parents had decided to put her with a somewhat foster family. It is......
