Upon receiving the book I felt exciting to dive right into it, and as a child does I jumped about the book, skipping the chapters to the subjects I enjoy best. Just starting a 4th year in Applied Bioscience my self I already have a large collection of study reference, textbooks, and access to journals. Making my level of what I find, "an enjoyable read" at a particular standard. And without holding anything back this book gets 4 of out 5. Format The format of the book is great, rather than buying something then having to go online or have another book to find the basics this has some history and background information right from the start. The layout is divided in sections a chapter to each category/topic eg kidney disease has its own chapter as does thyroid disorders. This makes for easy reading, and quick access. Right at the start is also several pages for abbreviations covering everything from AAS (atomic absorption spectroscopy) to ZS (Zellweger syndrome). I don't know how many times I see a bunch of letter in a journal and cant be bothered or don't have access to......
