In Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen gives us a lively picture of the life and manners of only the middle-class and the upper-class. She does not describe the busy, noisy life of a big city. She does not describe also the life of poor. Pride and Prejudice shows that life in the country side that was quite and uneventful. In the novel all character's life is based upon the economic condition. All the character's thinking, their behavior, as well as the theme of the novel are depended on the economic condition. Darcy, who is the hero of the novel, is introduced as a young aristocrat who owns the rich estate of Pemberley.
