Europeans of the fifteenth and sixteenth century who explored the New World thought that they would be traveling to Asian countries, but they actually ended up in the New World. The Europeans wrote about encounters with people who lived in the New World. The Europeans based their opinions about people of the New World, and formed ideas about themselves according to how primitive the inhibitors of the New World were, perceived ideas Europeans already had about the New world inhabitants, and the distinctive contrast between the Europeans and the New World inhabitants. One fundamental reason Europeans shaped new ideas about themselves and the New World was how primitive people in the New World ways of living were. (Doc. Then he is stating that foreign people are not wild because he believes that they are simply natural people, who are in harmony with Mother Nature.
