Hero; defender, protector, warrior During the Dark Ages knights took honor and nobility seriously. At this time period they went about achieving heroism a different way than it would be expected to happen during present time. The honorable deed could be killing a fellow knight, or helping a captive escape from the dungeon. Whereas today it would be along the lines of getting a cat down from a tree. Society shapes heroes and changes the fulfillment to be considered a hero in the eyes of the people. Although accomplishing hero status was different from then to now the traits needed to be a hero stay the same. Hero is a broad term, its means something different to everyone. When the word hero is used people have a tendency to think of a fictional, strong, handsome man wearing tights and a cape but that's not always the case. According to ancient mythology a hero is a man who possesses godlike abilities and powers, but a hero could be as simple as a parent or sibling, someone you look up to.
