Groundhog Day Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

This work teaches us many things about life, love, and happiness. We meet Phil, an arrogant and self-absorbed weather man, who only looks out for himself. He has little to no respect for the people around him, most noticeably the women. His main concern at the time is advancing his career, but first he must do his annual story on Groundhog Day in the small town of Punxsutawney, PA. The day goes by as normal as any other and we can plainly see that all Phil is worried about is getting back to the city. Unfortunately, a blizzard hits the town leaving Phil and his crew, Rita and Larry, stuck in the Punxsutawney. What happens the next morning, though, he never saw coming. Phil is now stuck reliving the same day over and over again for reasons unknown to him. He lives the same day for twenty-seven years, all while changing his ways and becoming a better person. He's only allowed to move on to the next day after gaining true happiness and the woman he loves fall in love with him.
