Road to Meeting Tyler Durden
Joe as he refers to himself on occasion is a normal guy. Every day he goes to work as a recall campaign
coordinator, where he plays the odds with peoples lives to make profit. On a daily basis he plays into the
hands of corporate America. He has spent his whole life being brainwashed with the idea that he needs to have
materialistic goods that he doesn't really need. Joe hates his work and gets no sense of reward from it.
Attempting to drown his sorrows he spends his free time putting together the "perfect" apartment. Scavenging
through catalogs ordering things he thinks have a special connection to him when they really do not. He spends
his time wondering about what kind of furniture will define him as a person. Because of the unhappiness in his
life, Joe develops insomnia. He can't sleep and feels alienated from the world.
