Set the water to a comfortable setting, usually warm. Place your head under the faucet until your entire head and scalp are wet. Squeeze some shampoo into the palm of your hand, about the size of a fifty-cent piece. Rub both of your hands together for about five seconds and then rub the shampoo throughout your hair and scalp evenly. Scrub your scalp and hair until there is a good lather, for about one to three minutes. Rinse your hair until you have rubbed the shampoo out, for about one to three minutes. Repeat the shampooing and rinsing two to three more times.
