Empowerment & Disempowerment. Intro:- In the nineteenth century men held the power but rich men held more power then poor men. Woman had no rights at all they were there husband�s property. Even rich women were rarely educated as men thought that here place was in the home & nowhere else. Also the industrial revolution was taking place. During which time the poor stopped farming & went to work in industry. But poor people�s lives are getting worse because they have to live in slums. Most people at the start of the nineteenth century were working in domestic service or farming. By the end of the century most people were working in factories. Subject Matter: The Nightingale & the rose:- The empowered are the student, my reasoning for this is he gets the nightingale to kill herself for a rose without asking here is what he said �But there is no red rose in my garden, so I shall sit lonely & she will pass me by.
