Gossip is clearly almost always present in our daily lives and has been more than present in the media today. It is undeniably a major cause of some problems in our society and shouldn�t be ignored or judged as unimportant. From basic readings it is clear that the identified major disciplinary scopes that would be used to study and analyze this topic are sociology and psychology. Psychology is a discipline that is very involved with ethical issues and that studies behavior. Questions that derive from studying gossip through these disciplines would be: Is it ethical or not to gossip or does gossip intervene with ethics? Where does the news stop and gossip begin?
