It is important for churches to have catechisms that help spiritually form and shape believers. These catechisms should be easy for people to understand, articulate, and practice. It says in Proverbs 29:18, that a people without a vision perishes. These catechisms in the postmodern age are often called �vision statements� or �purpose statements.� These confessional statements are crucial for the unity and development of the congregation. At Hillvue Heights church we have a catechism called C3HD. This acronym defines the very existence of why the church exists and its purpose. The first part of the acronym is the �C� which stands for �connection.� We believe that there are 3 major connection points that all people need to be connected to.
