It is important for churches to have catechisms that help spiritually form and shape believers. These catechisms should be easy for people to understand, articulate, and practice. It says in Proverbs 29:18, that a people without a vision perishes. These catechisms in the postmodern age are often called �vision statements� or �purpose statements.� These confessional statements are crucial for the unity and development of the congregation. At Hillvue Heights church we have a catechism called C3HD. This acronym defines the very existence of why the church exists and its purpose. The first part of the acronym is the �C� which stands for �connection.� We believe that there are 3 major connection points that all people need to be connected to. The first and most important is that Hillvue Heights Church exists to see people connect to Jesus through the cross and resurrection .
