Is Cloning Humane? The future of the human race holds many promising and exciting things. With all the technological advances that have been made in the past ten years, there is no telling how far scientists may take these advancements in the future. One of the most exciting and controversial advancement is the issue of cloning mammals and eventually humans. Cloning is a very complicated issue with many moral and ethical questions; it should be banned and not pursued any further than it already has been. In 1997, scientists from Roslin�s Institute in Scotland were able to successfully create a clone from an adult sheep. The clone was named Dolly. In 2003, Dolly was laid to rest after a veterinarian diagnosed the animal with lung disease. Lung disease is common in older sheep especially if they are kept indoors. Dolly was not considered old because she could have lived to be eleven or twelve years old (CNN). Dolly also was diagnosed with arthritis in 2002.
