Death Physician assisted suicide, euthanasia, is one of the major conflicts that is being debated throughout the world. Euthanasia is a greek word that means good death. There are two types of euthanasia. �Passive forms of euthanasia are the result of discontinuing artificial life support treatments allowing natural death to occur.�(Beaumont) �I (Hopkins) believe that passive euthanasia is permissible because it simply allows the natural processes of life and death to take their course.�(Hopkins 49) Active forms, however, inflict death upon the patient either by their own hand or by another�s.�(Beaumont) Basically, active euthanasia ends life before death can naturally take its place. This makes the people of the world think about whether they should take their own life or get someone else to help them do it.
