He had an older sister, Christine, and a younger brother, A.D. His father was the pastor of the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta. King’s maternal grandparents were the Reverend A.D. Williams, second pastor of Ebenezer Baptist, and Jenny Parks Williams. His paternal grandparents, James Albert and Delia King, were sharecroppers on a farm in Stockbridge, Georgia. Martin Luther King, Jr. began his education at the Yonge Street Elementary School in Atlanta, Georgia. Following Yonge School, he attended David T. Howard Elementary School. He also attended the Atlanta University Laboratory School and Booker T. Washington High School.
