For decades Americans have heard of the atrocious Second World War and the components encompassed within that subject matter. The bombing of Pearl Harbor; the Holocaust; Adolf Hitler and his Nazi regime, a group which continues to spread hatred today; the Normandy Invasion and others are gruesome reminders of the years 1941 to 1945. Not often evident are the horrors that led to the war and the war�s aftermath. American and British propaganda advocated destroying the Germans, making it seem as if all Germans were Nazis. This, however, was not the case as most Germans were not Nazi cohorts. Adolf Hitler was portrayed in the allied countries as an oppressive, anti-Semitic, totalitarian, and image that can be mirrored by the Russian leader Josef Stalin. Russian participation in the Second World War was not any different from Adolf Hitler�s involvement, doing nothing to promote peace within Germany, and continuing oppression of Europeans.
