Neighborhood Watch Program I chose to discuss the Neighborhood Watch Program as a method of crime prevention due to its success and its increasing commitment towards community camaraderie. The Neighborhood Watch Program seems to utilize many of the concepts centered around Social Structure Theories and the concepts involved within. Within the Social Structure Theories lies the Social Disorganization Theory and Social Ecology which both are directly related to the concepts, design and goals of the Neighborhood Watch program. These theories look into what makes individuals and communities targets of victimization and what plays a factor into the fostering of criminal behavior or target victim rich environments.
