The "Renaissance," or rather the rebirth of civilization, describes the intellectual and economic changes that occurred in Europe from the fourteenth through the sixteenth centuries. The Renaissance was not only a Middle of Age era of resurrecting the past, but a time when artistic, social, and political thought turned in new directions. A cultural change during the Renaissance called Humanism played a major role in focusing on the individual's humanistic realms instead of comparing humans to animals. The growth of capitalism influenced the appearance of humanism as a result of the Renaissance in many ways. The Renaissance still proves to be one of the most beautiful inspirations in Western Europe. Furthermore, in the United States, it continues to play a huge role in our current economic development.
