Taekwondo In the year 1955 Taekwondo became the national sport or Korea. Soon after, the sport spread through the world like wildfire. Just like Karate, Wushu, and Kung Fu (Gung Fu), Taekwondo is a mix of fast kicks, punches, and blocks. Through Taekwondo the practitioners grow mentally, physically, and spiritually. Along with these growths, more dedicated students learn better morals such as, how to be courteous, along with integrity, perseverance, self control, indomitable spirit, and victory. The word Taekwondo is Korean, and stands for �The way of the hand and foot� or �To break with the hand and foot�. After many years, practitioners start to train there abilities not only on speed bags or punching bags, but on boards and bricks! What Taekwondo is, in simple words would be unarmed combat made for self defense. To get more into what Taekwondo is, you have to dig back into it�s origin.
