The Principle of the Identity of Indiscernibles (PII) is a tenet of analytic ontology, explicitly expressed for the first time by Wilhelm Leibniz in his Discourse on Metaphysics (Leibniz, 1991). Often referred to as �Leibniz's Law�, it is generally understood to mean that no two objects have exactly the same properties. If there is no conceivable way of differentiating A from B, then A is B, or more precisely, A is B if and only if all the attributes and properties of A are also attributes of B and vice versa. PII is of interest in the context of discourse on Philosophy of Space because it is used by Leibniz as a foundation for his arguments in support of a Relationist concept of space. The Principle raises important questions about the factors that individuate qualitatively identical objects; questions that we will attempt to show are sufficiently challenging to refute the validity of the Principle.
