The Texas Revolution The actual cause of the Texas revolution against the Mexican government still seems to be a continuing matter of debate. There are numerous documents which support a point of view concerning the actual cause of the Texas revolution. For example, in document 3 on the �Texas Declaration of Independence March 2, 1836� (117) complaints from the Texans were laid out; however Jose Maria Tornel rebuts these reasons in Document 4. I personally believe the dispute between the Mexicans and Texans was due to a manifold of issues. I do not feel the revolution was the result of one or two issues. I tend to believe the document on �Texas Declaration of Independence� supports my view. I do feel there were other factors accounting for the conflict in Texas, which I will discuss later on. In the �Texas Declaration of Independence� document several grievances are listed, which I believe have merit. It seems at first the Mexican government encouraged immigration to Texas and allowed them to enjoy the same �liberties of the land of their birth, the United States of A......
