Issues & Their Contribution To Meaning In "The Divine Wind" Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

The author described his novel as a story about friendship, but there is more to it than this. Discuss what issues are explored in the text and how they contribute to the meaning we make of the novel. ‘The Divine Wind’ by Garry Disher is centralized around the theme of relationships, whether they are between individuals or groups within society, and the influential issues that may place them under stress. The Divine Wind discuss many relationships, such as the ones between Alice and Carl Venning, Hart and Mitsy, the Penrose family and also the Sennosukes relationship. They were all filled with different emotions and feelings, including love, hate, misunderstanding and confusion, all of which affected the bond greatly. The two relationships that stuck out to me were the Sennosukes and Hart and Mitsy. The latter had quite a complex relationship that was primarily because of the amount of stress it was placed under for most of the story, which was due to many influences, but I will discuss them in later paragraphs.
