Title: Cold Mountain Author: Charles Frazier Type: Novel Date Finished: July 26th This Novel is about an injured soldier (Inman) who has escaped from the clutches of the Civil War. This is his long journey back home to Cold Mountain where his true love awaits his return. He is driven by the thought of Ada waiting for him. Neither of them knows if the other is still alive. He encounters all sorts of people during his journey, with their own stories to tell. If I could change a moment in the story I would probably change the part where Inman has been kindly taken in by a young widow. In the morning a couple of the officers come to inspect her place as it is illegal to take in anyone solider who has run away from the war. They threaten to harm her child if she doesn�t give them food. Inman stays around and kills two of the three men. The other one is just young and actually covered up the child so he gives him a chance to run away. But then the widow shoots him. I was shocked in this part I didn�t think the young man deserved to be shot. I think the author wrote it this w......
