Reading at sea was an enjoyable way to pass time. Reading allowed me to use my imagination. Reading provided a good break from my surroundings. Reading also broke up the monotony of daily routine. Reading afforded me with an opportunity to immerse myself in the story I was reading. I read many books while at sea. Of the books I read, many had examples of good and bad leadership. One book in particular challenged my beliefs in what a good leader was. The book that made me think of what I would define leadership as was Mutiny on the Bounty, by Charles Nordhoff and James Norman Hall. The vessel�s Captain, William Bligh, was a successful Captain. He was a professional mariner. Bligh was a disciplinarian that practiced tough, yet necessary discipline, necessary to maintain order at sea. Though deemed unfair and overly harsh by his crew, the crew of the HMS Bounty had no reason to mutiny. The laws of the sea must be upheld at all times. A leader must be prepared to maintain discipline and order for the good of his/her vessel and those serving aboard. Captain Bligh display......
