World War II was important because it shaped our world into what it is today. In discussing the consequences of WWII, I shall examine the massive destruction and loss of life, the War Crimes Tribunal, the creation of Israel, the spread of Communism, the Berlin Crisis, the Cold War, the Korean War, the Cuban Missile crisis, the United Nations, the reconstruction of Asia and Europe, the technological developments, immigration and the �global village�. The main consequences of the Second World War were the massive destruction and loss of life. This resulted from the increased number of countries who participated in the war, and the effectiveness of modern weapons. Extreme havoc was wrought especially on civilians. Millions of lives were lost as a result of this war in both Europe and Asia. Because of the Nazi ideology which believed in the purity of the White Anglo Saxon race and the inferiority of all other races, the Nazis conducted their �final solution� of the �Jewish Problem� where 6 million died in the Holocaust.
