White Girls
The novel White Girls was written by Lynn Lauber which in a nut shell if you will is Loretta’s story. During the course of the novel you will see many self harming decisions that Loretta makes as a teenager. However these decisions were troublesome at the time, they funadamentaly changed and shaped her. The choices that she will make ultimately make her the person that she is today.
One of the first things she does wrong is, "I told her roughly how far we had gone, Greg and I, which I thought she would certainly want to know-that he had unbuttened my blouse in a pickup truck in the parking lot after he had given me this ring; how we'd already had out first fight only because I had discouraged him from unbuttoning further. I insisted my parents did not- could not-know." She was instructed by her parents not see Greg. For several reasons she was instructed not to see him, but the main one being because he was black. Although she knew she was not suppose to see him, she did so anyways behind her parents back ignoring the consequences.
