Being a kid, you could only hope for snow days in fact, you prayed for them. Kids would pray for the worst storm to wipe out school. We would wake up early in the morning to watch the news to see if school was canceled. I will never forget that one day that our prayers came true, the November storm. As I woke up and looked out the window, all I could see was a white blanket of snow. It was as if someone pulled white sheets over the ground. It looked blank, no footsteps, no yellow snow; it was a kid's dream. Trees were down like bridges, just waiting to be crossed. Not a soul in sight it looked like a ghost town. I quickly ran into my room to get my snow gear on. When I stepped outside, the cold hit me like a freight train. It was like someone sucked the air out of me. I stepped out onto the new patch of snow; I felt the snow crunch beneath my feet, as if I were stepping on crispy potato chips. When I sniffled, I smelt the cold air; it was bitter and raw like fish.
