He enlightens the reader to the joy of rain falling on leaves to the simplicity of brotherly love. Plot: The Boat - In this story the true passion for hobbies is shown through the unrelentless passions toward boats and the passion to become a salior. It is obvious that through the familys poverty they still find one way to cheer every day up. The story is from a small boys perspective, he finds himself stuck in a family bound to going no where in life. They intend to keep the family traditions by fishing, boating, etc. The boy becomes obsessed with his fathers line of work. The issue became and emotional division in the family, their conversations consisted only of what was said or done at the sea that day.
