Sabrina Peers Per.7 Era of Good Feelings (1809-1829) In this time period, unity, peace and optimism for the future was in the minds of every American. Historians can say this is the only period of time where almost all disputes were settled. The War of 1812 just came to a halt which sparked a new sense of nationalism. This led to the decline of the Federalist Party, a new culture, expansion, a new leader, and the beginning of a better economy. Industry was growing and employing more people, there was a greater consumption of goods and the new tariff would allow the government to make needed improvements. The Federalist Party quickly faded away leaving the Democratic-Republican Party the only ones in the political area. During the Era of Good Feelings the most dramatic changes occurred in politics, economy and diplomacy because of the rapid growth in changes. France promised to end its interference with American shipping but Britain did not. People also believed that British were encouraging Indians to attack Americans that were moving westward (Mancall,182). Congress......
