Diversity affects our lives everyday. Everywhere we go, no matter what city, state, or country you travel to, you will always be surrounded by diversity. This can be both a good and a bad thing. However, diversity is a part of our daily lives and it is something that we must learn to live with. In Jonathan Alger�s �The Education Value of Diversity,� he explains the importance of diversity and how it is often misinterpreted. For example, he states that in a place of higher education, students learn that not all people of a particular race act or think alike. �By seeing firsthand that all black or Hispanic students do not think or act alike, white students can overcome learned prejudices that may have arisen in part from a lack of direct exposure to individuals of other races (Alger p. 2).� This is only one pro of racial diversity.
