Dragons have been part of mythology and legends for thousands of years. Almost every country in the world holds a story or background associated with these creatures. Dragons are one of the oldest creatures in mythology and have been part of traditions since the beginning of time. The dragon can be seen in many shapes, sizes and colors depending on the tradition. They can also be portrayed positively or negatively. In their earliest form, dragons were associated with the Great Mother, the water god and the warrior sun god. In these capacities they had the power to be both beneficent and destructive and were all-powerful creatures in the universe. When people hear the word dragon they often relate it to the Western dragon. The Western dragon is often described as being evil, really mean and bloodthirsty.
