The Historical Significance of Andrei Rublev To Russian people, Andrei Rublev was not just the greatest icon-painter but the prophet. People adored him because in his paintings he emphasized hope, faith, love and bright future. Rublev tried to persuade people that their spirit is free under any regime, that they can search for truth in any kind of events � this is the main lesson of his paintings.
