Post-traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD The post-traumatic stress disorder occurs when the person has suffered some kind of traumatic stress from accidents, disasters, violence etc. This may sometimes be confused with a disease. This is not a disease, it is an injury. Most of the PTSD patients are survivors from accidents and disasters that have been of great impact to them emotionally and physically. Symptoms of PTSD may be crying, clinging, shaking, if it is a minor stress situation. If the situation was of great importance, they may go into shock and be largely unresponsive to outside stimulation for some time. This kind of situations happens more often on children than adults. Probably because the child tends to be more week than the adult himself. Normally a person when this one finds himself in a hard situation, it triggers a sense to fight or escape.
